Welcome to the Rugby Deanery Website. On this site you will find contact details and links to websites, where they exist, for all the Catholic Parishes in the Deanery, together with Mass Times and  details of our Catholic Schools. Our website brings together the resources of the Rugby  Catholic Deanery and provides information about Deanery wide activity.  Rugby  is one of eighteen  deaneries which make up the Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham. The Rugby Deanery has the following parishes: English Martyrs (Rugby), Our Lady of the Angels (Nuneaton), Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Bulkington) and St Francis of Assisi (Bedworth), Sacred Heart (Rugby), St Anne (Nuneaton), St Benedict (Atherstone), St Marie’s (Rugby) and St Joseph, (Monks Kirby). Fr Michael Gamble, Dean of Rugby and Parish Priest of Our Lady of Sacred Heart and St Francis of Assisi.

Coming Up

Annual Rosary Rally : 32nd Annual Rosary Rally is on Sunday 26th August, to be held at St Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire. The Rally will start with Mass at 2.00pm, after which there will be refreshments, picnics, etc. in the beautiful grounds of the monastery. The second part of the Rally will consist of the crowning of a statue of Our Lady, a procession with Rosary and hymns with a choir, followed by the Blessed Sacrament, blessing of the sick and concluding with Benediction.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Harvington Hall, the Shrine of the English Martyrs will be on Sunday 2nd September. Harvington Hall brings to life the fascinating history of the survival of Roman Catholic families and clergymen during the Reformation of the late sixteenth century. Mass will be celebrated by Rt. Rev. Robert Byrne CO, Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham.

Adoremus National Eucharistic Congress, 7-9 September  2018. On 7-9 September, over 10,000 people will gather in Liverpool for a most wonderful and historic event, the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress (Adoremus).  Please visit the diocesan website link for the full programme and a booking form.

A Year for Priests 2018-2019. On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart 2018, there began a year of thanksgiving, prayer and celebration for the priests of the Archdiocese of Birmingham. For more information click here.  A Priests Prayer link

England to be rededicated as the Dowry of Mary in 2020.  Dowry Tour – The Dowry of Mary Pilgrimage Triduum.  During the course of 2018 to 2020 the statue of Our Lady from the Slipper Chapel at the Catholic National Shrine in Walsingham will be taken to each Cathedral in England for a three-day triduum of prayer, as part of the preparation for the re-dedication of England as the Dowry of Mary in 2020. Rugby Deanery Visitations.  These will take place between 10th October 2018 with the Opening Meeting and then will end with a Deanery Mass on 19th March 2019. The Archbishop will be visiting Bulkington and Bedworth (Date still to be confirmed) and St Anne’s, Chapel End. Bishop William Kenney CP will visit the rest of the Parishes. Coventry Cathedral Sunday October 29th at 4 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in an ecumenical commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation at Coventry Cathedral on Sunday October 29th at 4 pm. Our guest speakers will be Bishop William Kenney and Senior Pastor Albrecht Köstlin-Büürma. Music will be led and performed by the Choir of Beverley Minster.
